The steps described here will stop Exclaimer - Signatures for Google Workspace applying signatures Server-Side (Google Workspace) and synchronizing signatures Client-Side (Google Workspace).

This process will not remove existing signatures from Gmail or restore any signatures that were present before Exclaimer - Signatures for Google Workspace was installed.

To proceed, please follow the steps described below (in 4 stages):

Stage 1: Remove the Exclaimer app

  1. Access the Google Admin Console: (https://admin.google.com).

  2. Select Apps.

  3. Select Google Workspace Marketplace apps:


  4. Select Exclaimer Email Signature Management:


  5. Click UNINSTALL APP:


  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Stage 2: Remove the Exclaimer Content Compliance Policy

  1. Access the Google Admin Console: (https://admin.google.com).

  2. Navigate to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Compliance.

  3. Locate the Content compliance policy related to Exclaimer:


  4. Click Delete to remove this policy.

  5. Click SAVE at the bottom of the window to confirm the changes made.

Stage 3: Remove the SMTP Relay Service

  1. Access the Google Admin Console: (https://admin.google.com).

  2. Navigate to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail> Routing.

  3. Locate the SMTP relay service policy related to Exclaimer:
  4. Click Delete to remove this policy.

  5. Click SAVE at the bottom of the window to confirm the changes made.

Stage 4: Remove the Exclaimer host

  1. Access the Google Admin Console: (https://admin.google.com).

  2. Navigate to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Hosts.

  3. Locate the Host related to Exclaimer:


  4. Click Delete to remove the required host (there is no confirmation step for this).

  5. Click SAVE to confirm the changes made.
