When troubleshooting, it can be useful to re-create the Outlook mail profile. This helps rule out issues with corruption and old settings.

Resolution

To re-create the Outlook mail profile:
  1. Click Start, type Control Panel and select it from the search results.

    The Control Panel window is displayed.

  2. At the top-right, from the Category drop-down select Large icons.


  3. Select Mail.



    The Mail Setup window is displayed.

  4. Select Show Profiles....



    The Mail window is displayed.
  5. Select Add....



    The New Profile window is displayed.
  6. In Profile Name, enter a suitable name.



  7. Select OK.

    Follow the Add Account wizard to add your mail account.

  8. Select Always use this profile to set the new profile as the default profile for Outlook to use.



  9. Select OK.

  10. Launch Outlook.

    Allow time for the new profile to synchronize with Exchange.

  11. Once synchronized, you can remove the original profile.
